Africa has every necessary economical resource for self-sustainability, yet she still faces a lot of challenges in almost every way, due to lack of continuity in sound leadership.
But in spite all the challenges, the Lord is mobilizing His Church to bring His transforming presence to the nations. National movements and Churches are emerging with the potential to change the face of our land -- and place Africa at the forefront of global efforts to reach the least-evangelised peoples of the world. The Evangelism and Stewardship Ministry of the Anglican Diocese Of Southern Malawi is an expression of this effort. |

Our Diocesan Evangelism Aim
• To reach all unreached people and groups in every geographical area and class of society not yet penetrated with the Gospel;
• To involve a significant number of diocesan Clergy, Church groups, Church leaders and ministers in diocesan mission for Christ;
• To establish a healthy functioning Church in every community covered within our boundaries;
• To form task forces, e.g. groups of evangelists, counsellors, teachers of the Word, prayer
initiative groups etc; from parish to diocesan level to work in strategic partnership
to achieve the intended goals
• Train every Christian for mobilization and strategy development for self sustainability
through economical empowerment on resource based economy
• Vision for mobilization, training, sending and support of African missionaries
• Mobilization/empowerment of youths for leadership and other modules in church ministry
and the entire society
• Leadership development and mentoring to all
• Church planting movements
• Prayer mobilization for transformation and mission in the diocese, Malawi, Africa etc
• Discipleship
• Transformation, i.e. Working beyond our missionary historical background to suit the current challenges being faced
• Partnership for experience and resource sharing
• Encourage Christians to care for the less privileged Christian workers,
e.g. Members of the Clergy, Catechists, Evangelists and Spport Staff etc
Building links (partnerships) with the Christian Church
and ministries in Malawi and abroad
Our diocesan Evangelism and Stewardship Ministry is the only one among the four Anglican dioceses in Malawi; therefore, its programs become a model to the rest of the dioceses. We aim and focus beyond our borders by default and necessity.
Additional diocesan evangelism and stewardship tasks, therefore, include: forming alliances with notable evangelism groups, prayer networking, outreach ministries, within and abroad, provide a focused guidance in new ways of partnership with fellow African Churches in an effort to reaching the least-evangelised peoples in our continent and beyond.
The purpose of the links (partnerships)
• Celebrate together what God is doing through His Church in Malawi and all over Africa
• Focus on the challenge of the unfinished task in Africa and the church’s role in global evangelisation
• Assess where each church, nation is at in the penetration of its least evangelised communities and in the sending of indigenous missionaries abroad
• Connect with fellow leaders whom God is using to jointly discern the heart of God for mission
• Learn from innovative African models of missions, evangelism, and transformation;
• Face up to critical challenges in the Diocese in the area of HIV/AIDS, Islam, mentoring, empowerment of women in ministry, holistic mission, and the challenge of children and youth, etc.
• Pray together for the evangelisation of our densely populated seven districts of the diocese, the Malawi nation, all of Africa and the entire world.
The Diocesan Evangelism and Stewardship department, therefore,
provides a critical bridge for diocesan leaders to join in
functional relationships to reach the diocese for Christ.
It is widely recognized that the Church in Africa is an emerging giant
and termed a "Christian faith reservoir" in the global mission force
of the 21st Century hence our diocesan vision to partner
with other notable evangelism groups in Africa and beyond.
Jesus said, "Feed my flock"
