Christ Church, Bronxville, NY, conducts "Mission to Malawi"
Christ Church in Africa
An 11-member team from Christ Episcopal Church in Bronxville, New York, traveled to the African nation of Malawi, one of the poorest countries on earth, this summer. Working with conjunction with the Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance, the team visited schools and orphanages, clinics and churches and Dzame Village, a community Christ Church helps to fund.
They delivered school supplies, medical supplies and medicines (including $2000 worth of medicines and surgical supplies donated by Lawrence Hospital) and created art with children and adults.
Pictured here is the Reverend Katherine Malin, Curate of Christ Church, and two children who live in Manyamba. "These children were among the many children and adults who touched our hearts while we were there."

Christ Church is the Episcopal Church in Bronxville. Its beginnings date back to 1898 when “several Episcopalians met for the first time” in a building located above where the village tennis courts are now.
The current church was completed in 1926. It was designed by Bertram Grosvernor Goodhue, who also designed St. Bartholomew’s in New York City and the Chapel at West Point. The Church offers a full range of educational services for all ages and is particularly known for its music. |
