A Few Good Men -- in Training!
The Mothers’ Union recently held a training workshop for Adult Literacy and Development facilitators for its new circles at Nantipwiri Pastoral Centre.
Bishop James officially opened the workshop.
Among the many facilitators trained were three men.
Most of the adult literacy work is among women who are the biggest demographic group in this respect.
However, there are also many men who cannot read and write but they do not always feel comfortable going to literacy classes because of the many women in the classes among other factors.
What is encouraging in our case is that we are having more men come forward for training.
It has been found to be more rewarding if the training is held separately and is led by men for men. In this training session there were three male facilitators.
The "few good men" were Raphael Banda, Wonderson Chinthenga and Isaac Chazika.
