Trinity Secondary School Maintenance Progress
Ve. Barnabas Salaka - Acting Project Officer
TRINITY
SECONDARY SCHOOL MAINTENANCE WORK
Following a golf tournament
that was held on 7th October 2009 to fund-raise money for maintenance
works to be carried out at the above school, almost K1,300.000.00 was pledged.
Of this amount about K800,000.00 was collected, which was used for maintenance
works at the school.
The areas that were tackled included rehabilitation of
boys and girls toilets which had been closed down for some time due to
structural damage. This involved repair of damaged toilet floor, and purchase of new toilet fixtures and
rehabilitation of sewer system.

Breeze blocks on all classrooms and laboratory
windows were replaced by metal windows. Most of the old doors were replaced
with hardwood doors for all classrooms and other areas including provision of
new locks. Classrooms were painted both inside and outside. However much still
needs to be done as inadequate funding prevented other areas from being
maintained such as library, hostels, kitchen and administration area.
